Amongst the armoured forms of Security officers that headed towards the bay was Calleja herself. Her rifle was slung over her shoulder and a sheathed machete hung from her belt. On the other hip was her helmet, and she had two holsters and a pair of pouches clipped in place.
“Come on, in,” she said with a grin as she walked past Aeryn, Robin and Ju. “Let’s get this party started,” she added, having caught the end of the Korean woman’s question.
The shuttle bay doors opened and admitted the group. Mara carried herself with an easy confidence, and when she saw the Aura undergoing pre-flight checks she figured that would be their ride and headed over.
“OK, who have we got, and who else are we expectin’?” Calleja asked. “Give my lot a second to get down here then I can brief you all and then we’ll be good to go, pendin’ the word from the Bridge.”
She stuck her head in through the rear hatch of the shuttle.
“Hey Hally. When you’re ready, out here please,” she called. “You’re part of the team, I need you in on the briefin’.”
Dark eyes looked around as she did a quick count of attendees.
