== Brennan's quarters ==
It had been long since Brennan had seen the inside of proper crew quarters, and longer since he had been able to serve in any capacity for any type of official service. The shuttle ride to the ship was definitely a long one, even though it only took a few minutes. The anxiety and excitement built in him with every kilometer traveled.
Finally, my opportunity has come at last.
The pilot brought the ship around to the docking bay of the Zephyr, and as Brennan sat watching the majesty of the ship passing by his window, he felt the jolt of the mag locks engaging and the seal forming. On the way, he had studied the ship's layout to assist his navigation when he arrived. He always tried to have a reasonable memory.
When he finally stepped off the ship, he felt the anxiety vanish and was simply filled with awe. He didn't stand and gawk for long; he had his quarters to address and, more importantly, new duties and orders to adopt. He made his way quickly to the turbolift, gave a handshake to the shuttle helmsman, and was on his way.
"Deck two"
Brennan felt the turbolift come to life and quickly stop as it had arrived at his destination. He followed the instructions on his PADD and navigated to his specific quarters. The door opened at his presence, and Brennan became quickly familiar with the spartan quarters as issued by Starfleet.
A new home. Hopefully, a long one to gain good experience.
He set his bags down on the bed and took a look outside his window at the stars. He was finally where he had strived to be. This was the end of one journey, but a first leap into a new career.
