With the shields down, breaches across the secondary hull, and overloaded SIF fields, Jadaris was scrambling between rerouting power and preventing a cascading failure. He couldn't concentrate on getting the ship back into its proper timeline, with the ship itself blowing up around him. Emergency forcefields could only do so much, and he sent power from the shields back to the engines since there was no point in shield restoration.
And then, something happened. Panels opened up from overloaded plasma conduits exploding. Jadaris put up an arm to shield himself and a nearby engineer from an exploding panel, and then caught it on a scaled arm instead of the fleshy blue arm it was previously. Pushing what was now nothing but air aside, Jadaris's eyes went back to the master systems control panel. Systems were still in the red, and power levels were problematic, but Jadaris growled at the console and tapped at power redirection systems again, trying to keep them race-worthy. Tapping his commbadge, Jadaris said,
"Chief Engineer to Bridge. I'm not sure if we've all returned to normal, but I'm not a blue scaleless Bolian anymore. Anyway, if we're still in the race, we might have another speed boost. If we reroute ambient energy fields through the main deflector, I can then route the additional power through the impulse coils and give us more engine power. It'll potentially burn out a coil, but they'll need to be replaced anyways due to all the extra power we've been feeding the engines. I can also start the emergency power generators and feed them into the impulse engines to supplement their fusion reactors if the earlier idea is unfeasible."
He looked down at the console again and did a level five diagnostic to see what on the ship was working, now that the temporal reversion seemed to have faded.
==GM Input: Would the engines be able to handle Jadaris's idea, and what systems on the ship are damaged at the moment?==
