As the Away team was quickly assembled, Sebastian didn’t know his teammates. He turned to the Bolian. “I’m Ensign Sebastian Cortez, and you are?” The Bolian had been caught off guard a little. Sebastian couldn’t help but think that there was something truly odd here,
The chances of a Transporter Room not being staffed were pretty remote; usually someone was there to greet you and say, “ The Captain will see you in his ready room, or You have been assigned temporary quarters on deck seven,” or some other such order as to where new arrivals should go and who may be expecting them at a given location.
This is very strange.
== NRC – Mid Rena Fan, Bolian Engineer ==
Rena looked at Cortez; he was a handsome human, with a slight accent that Rena recognized as Spanish, having spent so much time on Earth.
“I’m Midshipman Rena Fan, and this is Midshipman Meltar Jonar, she said, pointing to the Bajoran.”
Sebastian gave his team members a polite nod.” Do either of you know why we are here?” Said Sebastian.
Sebastian turned as Jonar spoke. “The Captain said that they lost communications with the Space Station Said Meltar . Just then, Sebastian’s Tricorder beeped, indicating the tricorder scans of the deck and bulkhead showed they were composed of Polyduranide. A common construction material used throughout the Federation.
The tricorder scan also revealed that some biological matter was present, but it was negligible at best. What the tricorder did show, however, was that there was a humanoid biological signature two decks down. But the exact species was inconclusive at this distance.
“Fascinating”, said Sebastian as he read the scan results, “Look here.” Said Sebastian, showing his teammates the scan results.
“Rena you check the transporter control to see if anyone else beamed aboard before us. Renna quickly began searching the transporter logs to see if anyone else might have beamed aboard who might be hostile.
Meltar could feel a knot forming in his stomach; he didn’t like the feel of this situation. It was odd to say the least. A Federation Space station goes silent for no explicable reason.
The knot in his stomach grew tighter. Nothing here seemed to make sense. “I don’t like this," said the Bajoran. It’s probably a trap.” He said his tone was worried.

“Relax, it could be a communications breakdown or a system malfunction." Said Sebastian, trying to calm Meltar. Meltar looked at Sebastian.
” A system malfunction, really, and there is no one here to explain, no one to greet us?” Meltar’s voice was tainted with doubt and a hint of fear. “I say we call for some backup.” Said Meltar.

Jonar wasn’t exactly acting like a Star Fleet security Officer, Rena thought. Rena liked Jonar , they had been friends since their day in the Academy, except he always seemed to think in the worst-case scenario. He was convinced that Cardassians lurked behind every corner, or Romulan spies
“Jonar, calm down, maybe the transporter Chief is on break or maybe he was called away or something.” Said Rena, her tone relaxed and confident.
Jonar, you're not making a great first impression with the Ensign.
Rena made several attempts to access the Communications panel of the Transporter controls

Sebastian knew that both Rena and Jonar’s ideas had merit, but the likelihood of it being a trap seemed remote at best, as Jonar had said that the Captain had been speaking with someone on the Station not too long ago, and if the Captain noted any hostility or that the Commander of the Space Station was under any kind of duress, surely he would have communicated to the Captain. Not to mention the fact that the Captain wouldn't send a three-man Away Team if he suspected there was danger.
“Rena, any luck accessing the Communications system?”
"Jonar, Rena, let's head out and see if we can figure out what is going on." Ordered Sebastian.
