The twelve Klingons advanced through the nearest gate, leaving both the inner and outer gates open, and began to fire. Most had pistols, though there were still about four disruptor rifles among them providing heavier firepower. They may have been blood-thirsty Klingons, but they were still soldiers, and they took cover behind several pieces of construction equipment, building supplies, and the omni-present barrels, advancing in groups as the others covered them.
There were five groups of twos and threes, spread across the building's frontage and peppering the building with fire. At intervals they were advancing, but as of yet they weren't quite able to close to melee.
Mayfair was able to pinpoint each of the Klingons, and those with tricorders or other displays could tie into her scans for more accurate locations. Anyone without the equipment or patience could still generally find them by the wild and mostly inaccurate fire they were laying down. The rifles made it dangerous to stick your head up, as they were more accurate, but the amount of pistols made it difficult to tell which Klingons, precisely, actually had the rifles.
