From her vantage point, Aeryn was able to see the Klingons begin their advance, noting how they left the inner and outer gates open as they started to fire, primarily using pistols with at least four rifles, a fact that the Science Chief took immediate notice of, as they split up into groups of twos and threes. They also, as Aeryn observed, were being sensible about how they approached the away team, taking cover where appropriate, and advancing while others laid down cover for them. As for their targets, they mainly peppered the front of the building, but not quite close enough to engage the fleeters in the kind of fight Mara was likely hoping for.
Aeryn, however, realised that despite the enemy using wild and inaccurate fire, it didn't stop those using the rifles from being more precise, and it was better for the away team to keep their heads down, as much as possible, if they didn't want to meet the end of one of those. Though that in itself proved tricky to pinpoint who had the rifles, given the amount of pistols in play, and it wouldn't surprise the redhead if that were on purpose, especially if the Klingons were trying to confuse them, either that or they didn't have a clue. Whatever their plan was, the fleeters would be smarter and were far from the type to admit defeat.
So when Mara spoke into the comm, laying out what she intended to do, it made sense to Aeryn, better to take the fight to the Klingons than sit about and wait. While she would have happily joined her friend and the security officers whom she picked to go with her, Aeryn understood the reasoning, what her part would be, and how it would be carried out. " Understood," Aeryn acknowledged, from her spot near the window. With Svenson aiding Hally, that left Pearson and anyone else who was capable with a weapon, and Aeryn knew what to do.
" You heard the Chief, let's lay down some suppression fire, and see if we can't take out a couple of them in the process".
Focused on her task and trusting the others to follow her lead, Aeryn began to carry out her part of the plan.
