Jenny growled under her breath as the Tusslebout opened fire on them; the weapons were powered-down to prevent damage being done, but the impacts against the Yeager's shields was causing disruption to the sensors, effectively leaving them blind. Even visual sensors and viewports were disrupted, the shield splashes rendering them opaque and thus preventing them getting a good view of their opponent.
[Jadaris to Bridge. Whoever shot at us deserves something in return. If its someone in the race, then a multiflux gamma burst from the main deflector might interfere with their impulse engines' subspace bubble, and cause their impulse subspace regulators to lose cohesive flow, stranding them until they can restart their engines. Jadaris' plan felt a little too involved for Jenny, whose initial response had been to direct a phaser barrage down the Tusslebout's last known bearing, but it was the safest and most diplomatic way to counter the Wairaran's behavior.

No doubt she wouldn't exactly relish the job Jenny was about to give her, but Midshipmen were meant to be given the crappy jobs. It built character. Or something.

"If he gives you any trouble, you have permission to 'insist' on my behalf."
