Cassidy rubbed the top of his head. “I had about the same amount of hair, but the rest of me was quite a bit bluer. It wasn’t just superficial, either. I felt the changes to my skeletal structure and endocrine system. It was pretty interesting, medically speaking. We learn a lot about the differences between species, but I never thought I’d experience them personally.”
As he began pondering the implications of the experience, the sickbay speakers crackled to life.
[Medical Emergency! I have a man down outside the torpedo bay! Phaser wound to the chest!]
Cassidy’s expression hardened. “Beinn, you should grab your medic kit. I’ll prep a biobed for the patient. Papaver, we’ll need a micro-suture and a dermal regenerator. I’ll show you how to calibrate them. Once we have Beinn's report, I'll know what else we need.”
Cassidy waved toward the equipment trays. Now that the ship had returned to its proper state, they were restored to his meticulous level of organization.
