Sebastian was a bit startled by his combadge chirped, he couldn’t imagine who knew he was aboard, but then again the crew of the Zephyr was rumored to be the best; they were rumored to be extremely clever and resourceful. So, it stood to reason that someone on the Bridge was checking those who were arriving on the ship, especially new crew members and they in turn notified the First Officer, and hir then contacted Sebastian.
[Greetings, Midshipman Cortez, welcome to the Zephyr.
I am the First Officer Commander Keir77, and I am welcoming you to proceed to the bridge along with your transfer orders to be greeted by myself and the Captain and be formally welcomed to the crew.
Once you arrive, simply watch for an appropriate moment to present yourself to the Captain and I and hand me your transfer orders. After we complete your greetings, I will introduce you to your Department Head Cdr Ra'an; Keir77 out.]
Sebastian thought that this method seemed like an odd way of communicating. What he found more fascinating was that the First Officer was a Hermat, a Dual-Gendered species. He wasn’t sure how that worked, and he was curious to see how that worked. Sebastian was very curious. He had a lot of questions like, Do they feel like both genders at the same time, or does it shift?, or How do they present themselves, male, female, or androgynous?
Well, Sebastian, the only way to know for sure is to go to the Bridge and see for yourself.
Sebastian gave himself a quick look to make sure he was presentable. He ran a brush through his hair, as his Abuela's words came back to him, Solo tienes un momento para brillar ( You only get one moment to shine.)
Once Sebastian was satisfied that he was presentable to leave his quarters, and made his way to the Bridge to run headlong into his future.
