Allegedly, they were close to the finish line. Supposedly, this race was almost over. And apparently, things were still hitting the ship. “Stay there,” Art replied, fighting the urge to clench her jaw. “And keep reporting on what’s happening. I’m trusting you to be my eyes and ears.”
Turning to see who was still in the same area she was, Art picked out two officers to go investigate the impact’s effect. “Nessa, Pete. Go see if we have more debris stuck in our hull. And if anybody’s hurt, you know where to go.”
Art turned back to the blank screen that once held all the information she needed to protect the ship. Not for the first time that week, or day, she cursed Braggins’ name, and could only count the seconds until she was given more information on what was going on. At the very least, she was glad she had an officer on the Bridge. At least there was someone there to remind Braggins that the Security Department existed.
