Hearing about the explosion did bring back some memories from the Academy, it made her grin a little but it wasn't the time. She did have a concern about her friend, they talked about these things a long time ago. Carley knew that she was shouldering a lot of responsibility, and hopefully she took the time to take care of herself.
"There has to be something that we are missing." Cologero noticed an alert in his station. "There is a small explosion registered in the Science lab." He turned to look at Carley. "Fortunately it was contained with no damage." He wasn't sure what happened to cause the explosion, just relieved no one was hurt. Just to be on the safe side, Cologero opened a channel. She was relieved that there was no one hurt, but confident the Medical Staff could handle it.
"Lieutenant Young it might a good idea to use internal sensors to make sure everything was contained, you know better than I that the biggest dangers are the ones we don't see." There was a chance that some radiation wasn't contained from the explosion, that could foster bigger problems.
"Aye." She said while firing up the sensors to make sure there wasn't something in the air. "Starting the scans." There shouldn't be anything in the air that could be dangerous but it was better to know for sure.
