"I'm Wen," the Vorta said, "what passes for a, well... a leader here." He looked around at the room sadly before continuing. "This is Dat," he introduced his companion. "Can you help us?"
Mara wasn’t big into history - she’d only really zoned in when it came to analysing the strategies and tactics. But she still knew exactly who was in front of her, and it put her on her guard. The clones did not look well at all but that would just make them more desperate, and the ‘originals’ had been particularly ruthless.
“I don’t know,” the Lieutenant replied. “But if we can, we will.”
"We'll do everything we can,” Robin added.
Calleja looked across at the rest of the team as they carried out their orders, clipping her helmet to her belt.
[Crawford to Calleja. Acknowledged. We're engaging the Klingon vessel so be aware a hasty exfil might not be in the cards for y'all right this second.]

“Chief, there are no weapons present, not even any utensils for food. We can also confirm that there are no computers or other kinds of equipment,” Svenson reported.
“Got it. Thanks,” Mara replied.
The Bandaran watched Omdor flee the room, and flee was the word that sprung to mind with the way he ran. It took her a second before she made the connection that something had clearly snapped in the Bajoran Chief Engineer when confronted with 2 of the biggest villains of the occupation. She nearly went after him, but she caught the look that Mayfair was giving her.
“Svenson? Check on Omdor please,” Calleja said quietly. “The rest of you, hold position. I need to talk to Mayfair.”
The two senior officers retreated to a room around the corner. Even here, the stench of rot and decay was still overpoweringly strong. It took every ounce of Mara’s willpower to suppress a more visceral reaction than the cough into the back of her glove the moment she stepped across the threshold.
“Those two are Weyoun and Dukat clones. Their bodies are breaking down. I'll need to do more detailed scans, but honestly it doesn't matter. There's nothing that can stop it.” Even through the CMO’s visor, Calleja could see the moisture in her eyes. “Recommend we provide what material comforts we can outside of this hellhole. Maybe secure another room in the facility and use it as triage. We can get food and water from the shuttle. If we can find some living quarters that would be best. I can clean them up.”
Mara was silent as she took that in.
“I'll also need to make sure they're not carrying any kind of disease that could be transmitted to us... and I'm not talking about the sniffles. Entire ships have been lost to this sort of screwing with genetics when it creates diseases accidentally. You know, like the Brittany.” Robin sighed. “We'll just have to do what we can here. I just wish we'd taken a prisoner, as unlikely as that was. We still don't know why the Klingons were doing any of this.”
“I stand by what I said back on Artemis. This feels like the Klingons got lucky findin’ this place and didn’t know what they had. They didn’t have the expertise or the manpower to actually do anything with these clones. Don’t mistake incompetence for strategy,” the Security Chief said calmly.
“As for what we do… I don’t know that we can do anythin’,” she added, rubbing the back of her neck. “These guys have no prospect of survival, from what you just said. If we bring ‘em down food and cots and try treatin’ ‘em, are we not just prolongin’ the agony? Riskin’ our people and givin’ up supplies that will make no difference?”
Calleja sighed herself, broad shoulders rising and falling.
“It’s a shit position to be in all round,” she added. “I’m not advocatin’ a firin’ squad here. Got enough people thinkin’ I’m a war criminal waitin’ to happen. But I feel like we gotta consider grantin’ them mercy.”
She looked up at Robin.
“Be my conscience. Tell me I’m wrong.”
