"Listen, you've been going hard for a while now. If you're going to keep this up, be sure to grab a quick bite of something. I know how it can be when the Captain is counting on you to help them get things done. Don't let yourself run out of energy before you hit that finish line. I'm sorry if I didn't always seem to be doing what you expected, but I'm right there to support you both, no matter what mission it is we're facing." Its been a long time since a man put his hands on her shoulders like that, he also had her undivided attention.
He was right about the fact she should get something to eat, it was a common failing of hers to be so consumed by what she was doing. She was more than a little hungry at this time, fortunately there was enough time for something to eat. It would also give her a chance to sit back to look at everything, the distance would give her a chance to see things that were originally missed. One thing for sure was it felt more like a personable conversation, it added a bit more relaxation to the conversation.
"This dithium thing could be very important. Perhaps I should take a look at what has been done so far and see if there's something I can add to the conversation. If this is part of what this is all about, we might be able to help defuse it. You're right, we've seen plenty of worlds fighting about control over such resources or the technology surrounding it."
Covering the moment with a hint of a grin, he added, "Um...sorry...Let me see if I can give you something to work with by the time you and the Captain have that meeting."
Beno wasn't sure what she was going to eat, but knew she didn't want to go into isolation. Ten Forward would be nice, sometimes the distraction could put things into perspective. "I believe you are right its been one of my common failings to over do things, and burn out as a result." The last thing she needed to do while things were finally getting wrapped up was faint.
It was right there that something triggered a connection, her look was almost distant. "A planet of people as you said only tell the truth to a point, through omission they don't tell the full truth. They are also all fortified in their own positions, with everyone talking and no one listening. The reason why when I was also listening, it really put her off center and out of the defensive position making both of us really listen." This gave Beno a plan that still needed a bit of work.
"Right now I have Science and Engineering working on an outline that can be presented to the President, how to refine the dilithium in a safe manner that they can do with their level of technology. Something that could possibly unite them all, but at this time its not too good to get too far ahead of ourselves." Beno felt herself getting into it again, but knew the value of stopping for a little while.
"In a few minute I am planning on going to Ten Forward for a meal break, you are free to join me if you like. I think we both need a small distraction, all of this going on can burn us out both mentally and physically." She wasn't sure if he was going to join in, but hoped he would.
