As each member of the team arrived, Gath made a point to look over their suits to eb sure they fit right and had been tested. It was common to have someone do a "buddy check" and he was trying to look after the team. Once he had given the person a good look over, testing the security of straps and gear, he would give them a thumbs up.
Although Gath was not currently aware of the fears Ens Cortez had about his helmet, Gath's helmet was different and had a better field of vision. it was currently attached to his hip with a strap. (Hint-hint...wink-wink)
