== Shuttle Aura ==
The FO finished and Gath then spoke up again, "Yes, even if we could gain access through the airlock they have, it's too small for the pods, so in the interest of saving time, we'll just cut our way in."
He conferred with A'kilees, at the results of the scans and with both of them briefly pointing to minor things to avoid, they agreed on the approach and what to cut away. A moment later, he was leaning over the shoulder of the pilot once more and after some hushed words, they agreed and began moving into position. The shuttle could extend the shields a little, providing some protection from the debris floating around the craft. It wasn't going to be perfect, but it was better than nothing.
Gath announced, "We're almost in position, so everyone seal up tight. Once everyone has their helmets on and a green light, I need a thumbs up."
== Presuming everyone complies and gives a thumbs up... ==
Gath then depressurized the shuttle and opened the door. As a matter of procedure, he clipped his tether from his belt to the small bar just outside the door. It was often thought of as just a hand grip, but it served as a safety device as well, allowing crew to perform EVA with thought to some manual precautions. As Gath slowly exited the craft, he began to hear some beeping that indicated something in close proximity. he paused long enough to glance around, but it was only a small piece of metal that then floated past him few meters away, posing no real threat. A couple of tiny pieces that were moving faster managed to make small blossoms of reaction in the field of the shielding from the shuttle. Gath hoped there wouldn't be too many of those closer to the craft.
The comms came to life with Gath's voice, [Mister A'kilees, let's get to work. It's time for you to shine.]
