“Excuse me, Doctor. I was wondering if, after this mission, if we could discuss the available treatments for claustrophobia.” This kind of thing was extremely common, sometimes it was due to the feeling of being enclosed by the full mask. Even when they could see through the mask, the feeling was still there. Evie had a calm voice. "There are a few things we can go over together, but for now its just a walk in the park." Evie gave him a small wink. "Focus on me and how calm I am at all times, that energy will help you remain calm." There was some science behind it, she didn't fully understand it but was still true.
"It looks like my Midshipman has the situation well in hand, so let’s maneuver into the best position to begin the cutting of the hull. Lieutenant O'Fee, keep a tight scan on our targets and Lieutenant Gath, the suggestion to have yourself and my Engineer approach first seems appropriate. You will keep our pilot informed of any necessary alterations in our approach while Midshipman A’kilees confirms what we believe is the condition of the pods.
Once we have that data the cutting them free can then begin, but acting with some prudence assures that we retain other options should the initial belief in the physical viability of them proves incorrect.
Any questions or concerns?"
There were more than a few concerns that Evie had with their situation, mainly health concerns for both the crew and them. "Yeah I have a few concerns about this whole thing." Evie was using the time to run medical scans on the pods to make sure they don't have anything that could be contagious.
"Until I know for sure its safe for them to be on our ship, I can not authorize the transfer to our ship. Plus I am not sure if the power sources are comparable. We can open a whole new can of worms like this, its best to stabilize the pod so we have a little more time to sort things out." Before they could send anyone to the ship Evie had to authorize the movement, and the Captain couldn't over ride her command.
After making sure that her suit was secure, Evie gave the signal that she was ready. "Remember everyone its just a typical day in the office, we keep calm and we will make it out of this." Evie was about ready to board the small craft possibly to set up a transport from to another. Or to keep them in a pattern buffer until the the time was right, and they could be safely be deposited back into their pods.
