Kal-Geal ran the tricorder over the phaser burn location, and switched to a protoplaser to treat the internal effects of the burn. However, he went for a second pouch on his belt and pulled out an armor repair patch, putting it into Bryan's hands.
"You should be fine given some rest, as that armor absorbed most of the hit. Apply that patch to the breach site once I've finished treating your internal thermal burns with the protoplaser. It'll seal the hole, but won't be as durable as a fully replicated vest until its replaced. I'd recommend bed rest, but given your charge missing, you'll need to be on your feet."

"Beinn to the Bridge. Commander Crawford appears to have been attacked at close range, no sign of his charge. Patching him up now, but the Ambassador is nowhere nearby."
He turned back to Crawford, "Did you get a good look at whoever shot you Commander?"
