An eyebrow raised as he observed the flight telemetry of the shuttle piloted by the new Michael Brennan. Although the type 14 shuttlecraft was a capable vessel, the capabilities of a ship or limited by the abilities of her pilot. Fortunately for the crew of the Zephyr, the shuttlecraft moved in to position with a smooth operation guided by an obviously experienced and capable individual.
Well done, Midshipman. Few individuals will be able to appreciate the skill you just employed.
"Powl, engage main tractor beam. Target the Broken Arrow's keel, ventral section. I want us to act as a splint. Hold that ship together, Lieutenant. Give her everything we've got!"
Torok witnessed the sudden drop in the structure readings of the fragile alien vessel just as Ameen did. It was so sudden that, some of the Bridge crew held their breath for a moment. Fingers flying across tractor beam control, he recalibrated the tractor beam to reinforce the aging vessels delicate hull.
"Captain, I have engaged the tractor beam modulated to act as a holding force. I also have a proposition sir..."
Torok paused here to finish the possible scenarios running through his head regarding potential outcomes. What seemed an eternity in Torok's mind was but a moments hesitation for Ameen and any onlookers on the Zephyr.
"We may be able to deploy a small team of engineers to create an integrity field. Using a series of localized emitters, we can create a link that will erect a field capable of further reinforcing the ships overall stability. Further, we can chain these together with pattern enhancers that will have direct connection through the hull to emitters inside that will also be linked with a chain of pattern enhancers to the inside. These would be physically connected with small data and power cables. The setup and concept are simple, but effective. This would allow us to transport through the hull using these linked connections, and it would significantly reduce the possibility of structural collapse on board."
Powl stopped for a moment to consider method of deployment. Beaming such a connection onto the outside of the hull would be relatively easy, but there would need to be at least one individual to attach and install the internal connective devices as beam through the lead laden hull would prove to be impossible.
"If we were to execute this plan, there would need to be at least one engineer with EV training in order to bridge the connection from the external web to the internal. Exposure would be short, and minimal."
Torok returned his look to his readout of tractor control to make sure no variance came as a result of the potential contraindication of the shuttle's movements.
