The problem with long term stasis wasn't much different than aging whiskey, the longer the process the higher the risk. At some point they had to have been made aware of the risk, essentially they started the process of joining their friends in the after life but haven't completed the journey yet. It was a weird question to ask at this point because they did have the ability to stop it, but the real question was should they?
The only way that she could have stopped it was if they posed a danger to the ship, the scans revealed nothing to be worried about for the ship, for her it was a mixed bag. "Alright we have fifteen minutes." She said quietly to herself as she started her way to the doomed vessel, a medical professional could prolong the power. "Just a walk in the park." Her voice remained calm during this time, people could hear her and panic if she did.
As she made her way to the pods, Evie was making sure she didn't put herself in too much danger. Or as close to it as possible, there were too many variables to be sure. Looking at the systems one of the things that she was looking for was a power transfer, if they had someone minding the pods this is what they would do. "Shimmy and shake all you want, we are not afraid." She wasn't talking to anyone but the ship itself, she was doing her best to stay calm but was going to need a drink after this one.
"Mr. Cortez I need your help to find a way to link the power sources together, if we do this properly we can buy these people more time. If we do this properly they could have hours and not minutes." Evie was confident they could do this, it was just getting them to the ship that was going to be the challenge.
