Amila jumped back as something seemed to go terribly wrong as A'kilees cut into the metal alloy. The release of the pressurized gas was strong enough that it knocked her back even further. She felt the shuttle groan and had a surge of adrenaline, but before she could react the shuttle steadied itself. She heard the humming of an energy field. She second guessed herself, but she was positive it hadn't been there before. Whatever had happened had been bad enough that Zephyr noticed and reacted by putting them in a tractor beam.
That brought her only a small amount of comfort as she watched her crewmates continue their work without pause.
Still focused on the task of widening the airlock, Gath was quick to pull out a battle ax of some kind and begin to hack his way into hull the ship, metal against metal - typical Klingon - while A'kilees went to adjust his settings and try again.
"Hold up!" She cried out.
"Wait a minute. We have no idea what just happened or why, you two," Amila continued in protest as she pulled out her tricorder. "Your industriousness is noted, Lieutenant, but we have no guarantee that once you brute force your way deep enough through this plating the same thing won't happen. Let me look into this first."
Amila shook her head in disbelief like a mother who had just scolded her children, as she ran through her usual scans on the area that had just reacted to A'kilees' first cut. "Hull plating is meant to take a beating," she reminded them as she worked. "I'm worried there might be something on the other side that caused us to almost lose our ship."
Amila then walked over to wear Gath had started to chip away at the metal with his ax and attempted to run scans in his area as well, also focusing on the inner threshold of the airlock itself.
