Away from the others, Ardanna didn't feel lonely, not even for a second, as she continued to glide the kayak through the water. There was a serenity about it that she didn't expect, even with the occasional passing cruise boat or the sound of nature in full volume. Obtaining an inner kind of peace, one that the brunette hadn't known she needed, considering how the last mission had gone, and how she had dealt with it from the moment she set foot back on Artemis. Maybe it wasn't one particular thing, having several coping mechanisms she employed when necessary, the type that had stemmed from the moment she had lost her parents.
She hadn't thought about that day in a long time, so it shocked her a little to have it soar back into her mind amongst the tranquillity of Grasmere Lake. Ardanna knew it wasn't wise to let the bad thoughts in, but it didn't feel like that, as she stopped for a moment and took a deep breath.
Exhaling, it wasn't just the memory she was focusing on, but also how she had always managed to survive, letting go of the negativity as her mind turned back to Ollie. She had seen him on her way down to the lake, and yet at the same time, hadn't defined how she felt about him, although perhaps that would change away from the ship and their normal duties. Looping back around, Ardanna wondered if she could tempt him to join her, deciding it wouldn't hurt to ask.
" Hey Ollie", she called as she got nearer, " Care to join me?".
