When the FO approached their table, Cindy began to rise, "Ah, Commander..."
It was quickly noted that the FO was all business though, so Cindy reversed course and sat back down, letting the FO say what was on her mind. There was quite a bit of information there and Cindy hoped that Jonas was taking it all in. She did her best to simply let things run their course until she could tactfully add clarity to the conversation.
Cindy finally offered a smile to Beno and spoke in her best soothing tone, which she had been using with Jonas thus far, "Commander, just to clarify, the Ambassador is not aware of my report to you, though he is aware of who and what I am." She turned to Jonas as she finished the thought by adding, "SoI'm sure he might be able to grasp that I am more than capable of multitasking in unique ways."
With a small pause, Cindy made sure she had eye contact with Jonas before saying, "I thought to save time by letting the Commander know that we were discussing options. Being a diplomat, I'm sure you understand how things can move swiftly in times like these, so although your injuries are attended to, I'm still doing my best to help you in any way I can. in this case, that would involve the First Officer facilitating what we were discussing just a moment ago."
Cindy was not as well trained in diplomacy as the FO, but she had learned a great deal in her years around Alex. It wasn't just her words she was choosing, but the manner of delivery. There were lots of pieces in play and she was trying to keep him calm but envouraging him to focus on what might be required of him in the very near future. She didn't want him to feel ambushed in this moment. Cindy wanted him to see that they were trying to help him as best they could and in a highly coordinated and prefessional manner.
Cindy then returned her attention to Beno and in the same tone asked, "Is there anything you need from me? I'm happy to assist in any way that I can, Commander."
While she waited for Beno to reply, Cindy deliberately picked up her beverage and took a sip, letting the mug make a tiny sound as she set it back on the table. It was her own covert way of letting the FO know that she was currently not a hologram, but was actually using her chassis, meaning she was currently in a hard physical form. Naturally, Cindy wasn't limited by either form, but she did feel that the more information Beno had, the better she could make decisions.
