He saw the telemetry from Cortez's tricorder regarding the power flow. The system was too far gone for a safe shutdown.
"Bridge to Cortez," Ameen said, his voice dropping an octave, becoming calm and absolute. "Do not cut that power. Our sensors show those pods have no battery backup. If you sever the connection, we lose them."
He watched the timer on the main screen.
Four minutes...
"You have to splice it live, Midshipman. Clamp the Aura's feed directly to the bus bar. It's going to spark, but the suit will protect you. Just get the connection solid."
He switched channels to the rest of the team.
"Commander Keir, Lieutenant Powl is standing by with the pattern buffer. As soon as Cortez stabilizes that voltage, get those enhancers up. We are beaming them out the second the light turns green. Gath, grab that data module on the central pillar and get clear. We're leaving nothing behind."
Come on, he urged silently. Bridge the gap...
