Lucy soon decided on what drink she wanted, and as the other woman sat down across from her, and placed the mug of hot chocolate on the table, Aeryn took it as her cue to start the briefing. Not that the DH expected any small talk, not with the purpose of this meeting, though she did hope Lucy would be able to relax a bit; then again, it still felt as though Aeryn hardly knew her, even though they spent time outside normal duty hours in the lounge. That night seemed like a distant memory after what they had endured, but this is why it was so important for Aeryn to do this now, rather than wait.
" I know the situation was different the last time we were in this office together; however, that's not why I invited you here today", Aeryn began softly, wanting to set the tone and let Lucy know that she wasn't in any trouble.
Putting the PADD to one side, and gave Lucy her full attention.
" What I want to hear from you is how you felt the last mission went, specifically your role in it, and you can be completely honest as to how you think you performed your duties".
In Aeryn's opinion, this is what needed to be said, because it was all well and good to add her thoughts to the reports and Lucy's file, but then how could she grow and learn if it was all one-sided?
