Tes looked up from his hands; he was previously fiddling with them. He saw the Captain and straightened up immediately.
This is it. No screwing up now.
He chewed his lip a little. He stood at attention to the best of his ability. Upon hearing the question, Tes thought for a moment. The Captain’s easy smile seemed to calm him, just a little.
”Medical? Well… well, when I was younger, I was somewhat reckless and I found myself in the care of doctors a lot. I, um, I comminuted my femur once. But, I remember when I was there that I was treated with the utmost kindness and compassion, and it was inspiring. And I had this interest, um, in school when they brought in biology in our general science class. I found that… that I loved learning how living things worked.”
