The entirety of the bridge crew compliment seemed to be waiting on this delicate operation taking place. The phrase, "it takes a village..." would have been quite appropriate. The Zephyr and each member of the crew were diligently grinding out their tasks with as much alacrity as possible. Each person is a specialist in their field and applying all of their collective knowledge in an attempt to preserve the lives of a civilization not even recognized. A civilization that predated the Federation itself. Not to mention, the hadn't been studied at all. For an anthropologist, this is the moment equivalent to a geologist, in Earth terms, finding gold.
Amidst the chaos and tension that could nearly cut from the air and roll in a tight ball, Powl was quietly and quickly working his busy hands across the LCARS system. He was bound and determined to have the calibration complete for when the call came to lock and energize the pods. There were a few delays naturally. When applying a new method for currently existing technology, there would need to be some accommodations made for the change in application and execution.
Torok had suggested the pattern enhancers, but he later added another signal booster in the form of the shuttle that had ferried the away team to their current assignment. Using a high level beam from the pattern enhancers, Torok used the shuttle as a signal station to enhance the already fortified signal from the pattern enhancers. The signal was then routed directly to the Zephyr’s system at a much higher bandwidth. Consequently this enabled the Zephyr to scan, lock on, and transport with great haste.
The Broken Arrow is barely maintaining structural integrity due to being carved up and having a rather obsolete design that would have been destined to fail if they had experienced a slight meteor shower. That hull couldn’t handle a hand phaser, let alone astral projectiles flying at high speed.
The adjustments and final alterations were complete and the pattern enhancers were providing an excellent signal. The entire daisy chain of enhancers provided the Zephyr with the ability to “see” inside the Broken Arrow. Upon visualizing the clear scans he began the process of mapping each pod and each member of the away team, sans Mid. Brennan as he was onboard and piloting the shuttle. Due to the fortified signal and carrier wave thanks to the redundant network, the pattern was resolved quickly and a transporter lock was indicated.
"Lieutenant Powl," Ameen barked. "We have a clean lock. Energize. Beam the pods directly to sickbay, and return the away team to the Zephyr immediately. Get them out of there before that hull collapses."
“Aye, sir. Transporter patterns are locked, energizing now!”
The computer chimed the appropriate acknowledgement. Powl had begun the transport of the pods and the away team to Sick Bay.
Each away team member will need to be examined before returning to active duty, so this complies with the contamination containment procedures laid out by Star Fleet protocol.
