Tes watched the display stabilise and drew in a sharp breath. Ensign T’Lara’s vitals looked all good, but there was another biological sign. He watched it for a moment, then whipped around as the material darkened. He turned sharply towards where the ensigns had transported from as if he could watch whatever was drawn from it leave with the ensigns. He couldn’t, of course.
He watched the tricorder again and his stomach twisted in knots as he watched the biological rhythm’s location: T’Lara’s thoracic cavity. It hit him. Whatever was there, it was swept up with Ensign T’Lara.
He hit his combadge.
There’s too much that can go wrong in the thoracic cavity. The spinal cord, the lungs, the heart; some of the most important organs are housed there. Nothing’s wrong yet, but this could go south very quickly.
His voice was a little audibly panicked as he spoke. He felt he had to get there fast and confer with the other physicians before something happened.
“Th’etellis to Sick Bay, one to beam up.”
