Now that Aeryn had finished the performance reviews and with Artemis getting closer to Earth, the redhead and former COS decided it was the right time to pay a visit to the security complex. A place that held a lot of memories for her, not to mention how it might be a good idea to release some of her pent-up emotions by shooting various targets, seeing how much she could tolerate with the different levels the computer provided on the shooting range. Aside from the feelings still refusing to leave thanks to the last mission, Aeryn hadn't yet sorted through those that had resulted from her breakup with Beka. In essence, there was a lot to deal with, and some of them needed resolution before she departed the ship for the Lake District.
She could visit the range later, since she wanted to check in with Mara rather than just because her friend made changes to the office. Sure, she had heard about them, and yet Aeryn didn't blame her friend for wanting to make it her own, as Aeryn had done after taking over from Damian. Life had changed somewhat dramatically, and walking into the complex felt a little strange at first, until Aeryn realised that it would always be her home.
Exchanging greetings with those she knew, Aeryn made her way through the complex, the box in her hand visible. No one seemed to enquire as to what she was carrying, not that Aeryn was being secretive, trusting that her visit would end up on the ship's gossip grapevine, which only amused the CSO. Upon reaching Mara's office, Aeryn smiled, impressed by what she had seen, and offered her friend a greeting.
" Hey Mara, I like what you've done with the place".
