Amila took the module from Gath and started to walk away - her immediate focus on her work, the mission, what was next. But, then she heard Gath offer Cortez some encouragement. Cortez was technically her responsibility. She'd let him go, knowing his fears and knowing the risks.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to look back over to the junior science officer. "Midshipman Cortez, take your time, and get some rest first if you need it. But whenever you feel up for it, you are free to join me in the Science Lab to help me to take a look at this thing," she offered. "No pressure. We put our health first. But considering what you risked so we could get this, I'd say you certainly earned your right to see this through."
