Science log
Lieutenant Carley Young recording.
This is a highly unusual place to be, people who live with technology deeply imbedded in their bodies. People had lived with technology in their systems, just not like they do. Smart technology people would wear, but it was nothing that surgically implanted. The same technology that they count on to maintain their level of life is the same that virtually destroyed their planet, they have over powered the natural magnetic field.
We noticed this with the natural migration of birds, they use the field to migrate from one place to another. This would also mean that any shuttle that fly in their systems would also have the same issue, my guess would be that's why we didn't see much for traffic. We have searched for everything that could have caused this, but have not come up with any answers. There wasn't a detectable anomaly that caused this, nor have we heard any reports of it happening to anyone else. If there had been something out there the odds of it hitting the shuttle are minimal, the odds of us finding it again are less than a millionth of a percent. I would love to spend a lot of time studying the planet, but to find anything usable to help them would take more than two life times.
