Lakes and Recreation - Artemis Shore Leave

Ollie's response was to laugh, a laugh that only succeeded in making Ardanna smile, because hearing him laugh was something that the brunette enjoyed, even if it was caused by him flipping her into the water. Besides, she could never be mad at him, unless he had done something unforgivable and knowing Pearson as she did, he wouldn't do that, at least not intentionally. Their friendship had been born of trust, shared interests, and a desire to ensure they always came back. Respect played an important part too, and the mutual attraction had been a bonus, one that she was keen to see where it led to.

Ardanna knew what she wanted and rarely lost out; any failure or rejection was never shoved away but dealt with immediately, and then she moved on. She may present a tough exterior at times, but underneath, she was just a girl who wanted to be loved, to be respected and not cast aside as if she were a second thought. Ollie had seen that, and as he moved closer to take control of the kayak, she couldn't help but chuckle at the boastful comment he made. " I guess you are", she teased, not denying the truth in his words.

Accepting the hand he offered her, while the other held onto the guide rope, Ardanna grinned at his comments, again not denying that they both wanted something out of them going to shore. " Exactly, I don't want to be denied any longer than I have to, and I've got a promise to keep".

They weren't that far from where Ardanna had set off from, and once her feet touched the shore, she let go of Ollie's hand, so she could fetch her dress and sandals. Then, when she returned, she hatched a wicked idea. " I might need some help with the wetsuit zip". She didn't, but Ollie didn't need to know that.
