"First Officer on the bridge..."
Torok stood and faced Commander Kier. S/he always looked young, but s/he was young. Kier stood with a confidence that was not indicated by the years of experience that weren't present, never the less Kier was the First Officer and quite capable. The stark contrast between Powl, being a Vulcan, that would live much longer versus Kier with her species having a relatively short life by human standards, was intriguing on the surface. Powl was already much older, but he was back to a Lieutenant.
"Commander, we are at condition green. The shuttle has been returned along with her pilot. Midshipman Brennan is being debriefed now. I ordered a more thorough scan on the shuttle due to the proximity it had to the explosions, the sheering from a tractor beam, and if there were any other deficiencies due to the narrow tolerances of the mission.
Science scanned the debris of the Broken Arrow. There was nothing to salvage, unfortunately. One last thing, Engineering was informed of the additional power draw to Sickbay. My instructions were to ensure the power was both consistent with no wavering of amperage or voltage. The pods put a significant strain on the power grid feeding Sickbay, but they should be able to manage. I will continue to monitor that situation when I resume my position at OPS.

"Aye." Powl stepped aside and allow room for Kier to assume the Conn. Torok returned to his station at Ops and relieved his stand in.
