Beka found it in herself to begin giving Mara the apology she deserved, assuming the COS would accept it, considering the level of embarrassment that had been caused. After her friend had accepted the towel and wrapped it around herself, Aeryn was already thinking of where they could go so she could get changed. Still, for now, all she could do was listen to the exchange between her ex and her friend, and be ready should things go downhill again, and that she would have to separate them.
Not an easy task, however, Aeryn was no weakling despite her small stature and thin frame, because despite her switch to Science, the redhead hadn't stopped working out or keeping up with the kind of fitness she was used to, knowing it could come in useful if needed. Thankfully, following a rather awkward silence, Mara accepted the apology, her anger still evident, but it was something, and Aeryn was grateful that it hadn't come to blows. While Mara began to calm down, Robin stepped in to get Beka out of the way, ordering her to go meet the newest member of Medical, and Aeryn had no issue with it, since Robin was Beka's superior.
It was definitely a baptism of fire for the newbie, who probably expected a nice get-together, being introduced to everyone instead of witnessing drama, then again, drama was part of life on Artemis, so perhaps it was better for him to see it now, rather than later. Robin also seemed willing to deal with the other guilty party in this debacle, and Aeryn wasn't going to stop her, turning to Mara once the CMO had left them.
" I think Robin can handle it", she remarked to Mara, " It's only a short walk to my friend's pub, so we can get you changed, and then we can come back; it shouldn't take us long with the replicator".
