Amila nodded at Keir, acknowledging the Commander's request that she take a seat, but she approached Dr. O'Fee first.
"May I?" She asked, hoping to take a closer look at the medallion.
Amila dared a brief second to smile shyly at Ameen before quickly turning to Keir.
"Lieutenant Jukish and I have some ideas on how to get into the computer drive," she stated. Amila then took a seat before continuing. "It seems pretty simple actually. Maybe too simple. Our instruments detected that the inscriptions on the black box are math equations, and Jukish found the place where the solution is meant to be entered - right into the equipment itself. We just need to synchronize our subspace frequency with theirs to enter in the solution."
"But that leads us to our concerns about what type of alarm might be triggered once we do open it, Sirs," Amila added. "It's already sending out a message, and there was the distress call that we picked up on. Lieutenant Jukish and Midshipman Cortez are both concerned about unlocking the device. I think they should be heartd, but I'm ready to turn the lab into a Faraday Cage and go for it. I think we can mitigate any damage that way. We need our answers - we have people in Sickbay that we need to figure out what we are going to do with."
Amila propped her right elbow on the armrest of the chair and rested her lips gently against her forefinger and thumb while she waited. It helped her casually avoid eye contact with Ameen while he and Keir weighed their options and let the others discuss. She has given her general opinion and wanted the others to weigh in with their thoughts now.
