Jez then spotted The Chief Engineer of the Aquila, Lieutenant Kalli Thorn. Jez found Kalli to be a bit shy at times, often blending into the background often going unnoticed, which was funny, considering she was a Chief Engineer, after all Engineers often had to bark out orders in noisy environments.
Maybe Kalli works by “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” Thought Jez. Jez liked Kalli because she always seemed to be thinking, analyzing every situation, all the traits of a good officer, especially a Security Officer., but Kalli was an engineer, a builder, she kept things running, Kalli kept life flowing through the ship, When one thinks about it, the Engineer is the most important member of any ship.
Jez walked over to Thorn and smiled and said, “Hello Kalli, are you enjoying the festivities?” Jez motioned to the people around the room. Jez truly wasn’t in the mood to celebrate. The weight of her legal issues pressed heavily on her. She wasn’t sure if she made the right choice in fighting Ukinix and the Ninth House.

K’Vada was fascinated by Cologero told her of the Roman Empire it was fascinating to hear how in many ways it paralleled the Klingon Empire, “Oh The Klingons don’t tolerate criminals, depending on the crime, Common outcomes include life imprisonment on Rura Penthe, immediate execution, or the forfeiture of honor, more commonly known as discommendation, which is considered worse than death.” Said K’Vada, her voice filled with an odd mix of pride and uncertainty.
When Cologero mentioned Emperor Nero, K’Vada thought of the tyrant Molor. “I see.” She said, “You know Cologero, the Tyrant Molor, was a 9th-century Klingon tyrant who ruled Qo'noS and was eventually slain by Kahless the Unforgettable, becoming a legendary villain representing dishonor and cruelty. Renowned for his brutal, absolute power, he serves as the primary adversary in Klingon mythology, with his defeat marking the birth of modern Klingon honor.”
When he mentioned Opera K’Vada smiled; she had heard many human Operas. She found the works of Giacomo Puccini to be incredible; he was the master of emotions. She particularly enjoyed his opera, Tosca: A tense, dramatic thriller set in Rome over 24 hours, featuring a love triangle and political intrigue.
“ Tell me Calogero, who do you prefer Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, or Gioachino Rossini. I personally like Puccini. So, Cologero, by chance, have you listened to any Klingon Opera? My favorite is Aktuh and Maylota: the version by Krutak is far superior to that of Var’Ket. Maybe, we can watch it on the Holodeck sometime?” Suggested K’Vada, with a warm smile playing on her lips.
