Julia started on her plate of food and is observing everything around her and Surik. Troy noticed a new person that she has never seen before and started to miss her family back home. She didn't know that Surik had something up his sleeve and kept in contact with her parents back home.
Even though she had Surik and both animals with her, she still missed her family back home on Betazed. Troy didn't have many friends or people to talk to even telepathically. Julia hasn't seen her parents or cousins from back home since the crew was on Starbase Alpha.
