Lucy discovered she’d waited too long and Robin was long gone. There wasn’t much point attempting to catch up with the CMO, so she cored and sliced two apples and went looking for the stables. She’d been on the occasional trek and there was that time when somebody had been practicing steeple jumps when she’d been on the same paddock.
Lucy liked horses. Not the full pony club obsession, but there was something noble about them. When they weren’t following another horse at a gallop. She was a little surprised to see Robin still at the paddock. Dustier than she remembered and quite happy.
“Hi, brought apples.”
I shoulda brought more apples.
