Mike looked around when Commander Velaul said, "Sure we can do it here, or we can move to some place a little more private." Mike looked around a few more times just to make sure no one was watching them.

Mike led them to a secluded corner, he took a deep breath. “Your Officer Jez Mala is in danger, I have known the Mala family for many years. I’m Commander Michael Denton Chief of Security( Retired). I have worked as Security Chief for Jez’s parents. We were on a dig in the Lozara System near the borders of Klingon and Gorn Space. We set up camp that night. I got up early the next morning to do a security check on an old Temple. That way the dig team could get started early, When I returned,” Said Mike, his voice started to crack. “And when I returned, everyone was dead.” Said Mike, his face trying to hide his tears. “ Jez's parents, my wife, our friends and colleagues, all dead, there were signs of disruptor fire, large crystal spikes( a Gorn weapon), as well as Gorn tracks, and there were a few Nausicaan Tegolar Swords.” stated Mike,
Mike knew that the evidence was circumstantial at best, it could have been someone implicating the Klingons, the Gorn and the Nausicaans, but the question is why. “The Archaeologists were just excavating an ancient temple belonging to a minor power native to the planet. They hadn’t offended anyone, no locals were protesting, as there were no locals, the planet was uninhabited.” Said Mike, his voice filled with a mixture of rage and sadness. “ I’m hoping that you will help me investigate and bring the murders to justice.” added Mike.
Mike knew his chances were slim that the Aquila would or could help, he felt that someone had targeted the Mala’s and he feared Jez would be next. Jez had told him that the crew of the Aquila was the best, that she trusted them implicitly.
“Please, if you won’t do it for me, at least do it for Jez.” Added Mike.
