ZE/D99 - Ancillary Locations

Following the Zephyr’s schematics on his PADD, A’kilees made his way through the corridors until his positioning came close to the area in question. He was sure to find the area where there had been a heat build up of the plasma conduits as long as he followed the power outlay of the Zephyr’s blueprints. Nodding politely to the different crew members that he passed along the way, the tall saurian finally made his way to the section indicated just below Sickbay.

“Should be around here somewhere” he murmured to himself.

Reaching into the engineering kit, A’kilees grabbed his tricorder and began a quick scan up and down along the wall looking for higher than normal temperature readings coming from behind the panels. He continued this way for a few moments until he reached a branching corridor where there was a higher spike in the corner of the wall with a LCARS display nearby on the facing wall. After placing his kit and the tricoder near his feet, A’kilees ran his clawed hand along the edges of the panel and pulled the panel towards him gently. The panel came off the wall with a thunk and the saurian peared around the edge. The plasma relay behind the panel glowed with energy and radiated slightly in a tinge darker than the other surrounding conduits. He had found his target.

“Ah, there you are,” said A’kilees to the faulty conduit and he carefully placed the panel down leaning it against the wall. “Should have you fixed up in no time”.

A’kilees squatted down to the floor and opened up his engineering kit, running his clawed finger along the different tools until he reached the gravitic caliper. Taking it in his hand he stood up straight and aimed it carefully towards the conduit. Activating the caliper, it buzzed softly as the saurian moved the device to and fro along the conduit. Slowly, the conduit’s pigment lightened and soon was the same colour as the others surrounding it. Inspecting his work and feeling content at the results, A’kilees returned the gravitic caliper back to its slot in the kit and picked the tricorder back up. A quick scan indicated that the temperature of the relay was measuring within the similar parameters as the other relays were.

Well, there’s that done A’kilees thought, just need to make sure that it’s completely fixed though.

Leaving his work station for a moment, the saurian made his way over to the nearby wall terminal a few paces away. Accessing the LCARS, A’kilees accessed the ships systems and began to search for the local coolant flow distributor controls. Performing a full reset of the coolant parameters of all the relays in the localized area would ensure that every conduit would have the same temperature specifications to ensure no further long term fluctuations. He worked quickly and quietly, only the sounds of small conversation down the halls and the low hum of the Zephyr’s engines were present.

A short time later, A’kilees was finished. Coolant flow distributors had been reconfigured to ensure that no future thermal buildups would happen in the area and an analysis of the conduits themselves showed all systems functioning properly and all within optimal parameters. Signing out of the wall LCARS, the saurian made his way back to the exposed conduits in the wall. A final visual inspection showed that the conduits had maintained their glow and crackled softly with plasmatic energy. Lifting the wall panel back into position, A’kilees returned the metal sheet on the wall and fastened it with a familiar thunk sound. Looking around to ensure that all tasks were completed to his satisfaction, the saurian secured all his tools back into his kit and began to make his way back to Engineering.
