After showing Mara to a room where she could get showered and changed, Aeryn had stopped by her own room to freshen up, before going down into the bar. The pub itself was just like the rest of the town, and kept with it's traditional image, with a large bar area, snug, dining area all on the ground floor, with the kitchen, storerooms and yard at the rear. There were five ensuite rooms in total for paying guests on the upper floor, and a private apartment for Gray and Mitchell. The décor was warm and welcoming and Aeryn quickly found a seat at one of the booths in the bar, with a large picture window that overlooked the green. Perfect for people watching or in the redhead's case the chance to sit and read one of the old history books available from several reading nooks dotted around the pub.
There was nothing quite like the feeling of holding a proper book in your hands, the feel of the pages oddly satisfying as she turned them, immersed in one of her favourite topics while she waited for Mara. By the time her friend reappeared and found her, Aeryn closed the book, remembering what page she had stopped at for later, and gave the security chief a warm smile as she spoke. While she wouldn't want to envy any Counsellor who had to deal with starship crews, Aeryn preferred to talk to her friends whenever possible, and sure they could go back to the BBQ, however Aeryn thought it wouldn't hurt to have least one drink before they returned.
" While I have respect for Counsellors, you've always got me to talk to, and I was just thinking, how about we have one drink then go back to the others?".
Mara might be ready to go face everyone again, but a little more time away would only do some good, or so Aeryn believed as she awaited her friend's decision.
