Mara shifted on her chair, before stretching her legs out in an effort to get comfortable. 6’2” was far from freakishly tall but it was still above average, and the old-school pub was apparently designed for people a little shorter than she was.
"Here you go, and I also got us some crisps." Aeryn laid down the lemonade and an oddly-shaped packet in front of Mara.
“Thanks. And crisps? Never heard o’ that one.” The Bandaran picked the bag up, looked at it suspiciously and then carefully opened it. The smell of bacon wafted up invitingly. She picked out a crisp and looked at it. “It smells like bacon, but that ain’t bacon. What is it?”
She ate it anyway before Aeryn could answer, then followed it with another one.
“Not bad, I’ll give you that,” she said with a nod. “Thanks.”
