Kalli was enjoying a day off. She sometimes enjoyed just relaxing and letting the chaos around her not affect her. It gave her a calming feeling, like being the one rock that stood silent ass raging waters swirled around her.
While watching people come and go, a big man approached her. He was just over two meters tall and built like a tank wrapped in muscle his features were criss-crossed with thin lines of scar tissue, but they were mostly older scars that you might overlook if you didn't know what you were looking at. He spoke in a deep and rumbling voice that almost sounded like a growl, "Pardon me, miss. Do you know if any of these shops sell real cooking ingredients? > favor some hot peppers for some home cooking and replicated ones just never seem to taste right. You look like you're familiar with this place, so I was hoping you could help me out."
Kalli smiled warmly, "Oh, I know the feeling. I rely on special programming to resolve my culinary issues, but for the real thing, you need to go into that restaurant over there and ask to talk to Toni and say that Kalli sent you. She grows some of her own stuff with hydroponics. If you like food with a little heat, she's the lady with the secrets to make you sweat."
A gin grin suddenly turned into a smile that dominated his large face, you say that like you've experienced it first hand. I wouldn't think a little lady like yourself would have an interest in such things." He extended a large hand, "Thank you Kalli."
She shook it and found him surprisingly gentle. He continued, "I'm Curt Ursa, but my friends call me Bear."
Kalli nodded with a chuckle, "The name suits you Bear." Her smile turned devilish, "My looks can be deceiving. You might be surprised by what I like."
She stood and with a subtle gesture of her head, indicated for him to follow, "Come on, I'll introduce you myself."
Curt beamed at the turn of events as he followed her and they began discussing the recipe he was planning to cook. Kalli smiled to herself as she realized she liked Curt and it occurred to her that perhaps she did have a type after all, and it wasn't just Mirak.
