Food in the break lounge had been a raucous affair as Aeryn and her team reconnected over a buffet style meal, gossip and general chit chat. In all it has been the perfect dose of medicine for the Chief and for the group as a whole because each of them knew it would change once the ship launched. There was some speculation as to where they were headed next, a natural response now that leave was over, however neither of them dwelled on the topic for too long before they dispersed after Aeryn had gone through the project list.
Some projects were starting, some were finishing and others were at varying stages including Aeryn's ongoing cross pollination project. There had been some encouraging results so far, and the occasional failure but it was to be expected given the nature of what the scientist was trying to achieve. The successes were celebrated because this was a long term aim to help potential struggling societies and so forth. Most of this work took place in the Primary Science Lab, Aeryn's personal favourite where she could study, experiment, go over the data and talk to others at the same time.
The CSO had left to check the latest crops currently stored in an environmentally controlled side room, not realising she had left her PADD behind until she entered what she called the greenhouse and almost swore.
She did what she could before turning back, answering one of her new Ensigns as the redhead headed back to where she must have left it. “ It's okay Moses, it should be in the main lab” she assured her fellow scientist before she realised that someone was holding her PADD in his hand, her gaze shifting to the pips on his collar.
Aeryn decided there was nothing she could do but be polite especially since she didn't know who this Commander was.
“ Hello Commander, can I help you with anything?”.
