There was almost nothing that showed outwardly on Sovar’s face that betrayed the quick flash of rumination that happened within. The quote on the PADD had welled up thoughts and memories from the past. Mentally, he acknowledged the cavalcade, giving everything just enough time to have its moment in the spotlight of his mind. Beyond that, he neatly packed them up and placed them back where they belonged. His focus wasn’t on those things. Instead it was in the Science Complex, on the Artemis, where he had been assigned his first Command position.
“ Hello Commander, can I help you with anything?”.
Sovar’s head had turned first to the approaching officer before his body followed. The arrival of the Lieutenant Commander, and her question, were met with a raised brow. He was certain that the officer was Miller, but she hadn’t introduced herself, and so he considered his next step of decorum.
“Salutations Lieutenant Commander. I am Commander Sovar,” he spoke in his usual robust voice.
“Your arrival is timely. My inspection of the Artemis had led me here to the Science Complex. I was curious to see what kind of research and experiments were being run by the science team, led by Chief Science Officer, Aeryn Miller. During my rounds I observed this locked PADD lying here.”
Sovar turned and motioned to its previous resting place,
“The quote on the display, Hawking, reminded me of my time at the Vulcan Science Academy. Perhaps this would be better left in your charge,” he offered the PADD.
“I am unaware of where a lost property repository would be on this deck, and the device owner may be looking for it.”
