It wasn't that unusual for Aeryn to have visitors to the lab; however, the as yet unknown Commander's unexpected arrival had caught the redhead off guard a little. She also wouldn't have just left her PADD lying around either, so this was definitely on her as she learned of the Commander's name and why he had chosen to visit the complex. While this wasn't the kind of first impression she would have liked to give, Aeryn had to make the best of an already slightly awkward situation. Although the saving grace, as it were, looked to be a shared interest in the Sciences thanks to one of Aeryn's favourite quotes.
Hoping she wouldn't blush when Commander Sovar offered her the PADD in question, she accepted it before deciding that she better come clean, as well as introduce herself properly, like she should have done in the beginning.
" Thank you and welcome to Artemis, Commander. My apologies for not introducing myself properly when I arrived; you see, I was in a rush to retrieve the PADD I accidentally left behind", she began in her usual warm tone. " I'm Lieutenant Commander Aeryn Miller, and I assure you that I don't always do this kind of thing".
Aeryn indicated the aforementioned PADD she now held in her hand and hoped she could turn this meeting around; otherwise, she wouldn't have gotten off to a great start with who she assumed was their new FO, or at the very least a guest aboard the ship. Time would only tell as she latched onto some of the information Sovar had shared with her, and quickly made him an offer.
" Would you like a proper tour, Commander? We have a lot of different projects, experiments and research going on at the moment, some new, some ongoing, and I'd be happy to show you and discuss them with you".
If the Commander accepted, Aeryn believed they could move on from this moment of embarrassment. Besides, she enjoyed showing off the work underway in the complex because she was proud of what they were trying to achieve and had achieved since she had taken over the department.
