Listening to the rumbling voice of the Gorn Chief Engineer's response to both his and the Chief Science Officer's queries, Ris'maeriiffa focused in on the the meat of what was being said. As he did so, his antennae tips extended slightly forward, as if they were reaching for something.
"Who on this ship knows the Cardassians really well? The way they think, their overall cultural outlook, filters, and biases? Especially where it concerns the Federation? Maybe there's something in there we can play into to slide into a blindspot." He paused. "Much like your brain can fail to register a creature or other object that's so out of place that it convinces itself it's not real."
He allowed himself a slight shrug of the shoulders.
"At the risk of impertinence, I will point out again that they 'why' of their actions is arguably important in determining how we counter them. I'm also well aware we don't have a lot of time to decide on a course of action, and analysis paralysis is a well-known and studied condition. I just prefer to have a bit more information in the decision tree." A beat. "Sirs."
