For a moment, Reyna looked at Beno with a confused expression, "Girls?..." Then her mind put it together and her eyes got wider, "Oh! Yes, I suppose that makes sense. From what I know of family history, I shouldn't have too much to worry about there, but I will have to take that into consideration. Thanks."
Reyna leaned very close to Beno and almost whispered, "There is SO much that I had almost no idea about. The literature is very diverse on the topics, but none of it seems to be prepared for younger people to be informed. I can only deduce that most cultures wait until the last minute to give them a crash course once puberty is already in progress. Still, the only things I can find to read are about the medical aspects and the psychological aspects of embarrassment around others. I'm not embarrassed about much other than not having some of my teeth while they are growing in. Talking is going to be a challenge. I thought I was having a medical emergency the first..." She glanced at her dad. "...um...well...that first night, I barely realized it wasn't a dream and suddenly I thought I was having a seizure. Frankly, it scared the heck out of me. My whole body lost control. Well, I suppose it could have been worse, but I had to go to the bathroom and change my nightshirt. Is there anything else you need to warn me about? Now that I know what it is, I like it, but that was a heck of a thing to have happen in the middle of the night. Am I in for more surprises like that, because I don't like those kind of surprises? Boys still weird me out a bit, so I might have to do some research and testing on them, but I plan to give myself lots of time before I have to get in that arena. I knew a hormone spike was going to have emotional side effects, but they need to be much more clear about that."
She stopped, let out a huge sigh and blushed, "Fates! I'm actually rambling like my dad does sometimes." She suddenly looked very frustrated with herself, "Sorry...with my brain chemistry messed up like this, I feel like I'm on some kind of psychoactive drug." She looked at Beno a little helplessly, "I really don't like not being in control of my own brain. I find it quite unsettling." She then glanced at the slices of cheesecake and gave a chuckle, "At least with the strawberries, I know what's going on and what to expect." It was followed by her blushing again and hugging Beno.
Alex couldn't hear much of what Reyna was mumbling to Beno, but he grinned and said, "You ladies got this under control? Anything I need to know about?"
