Robin's first day back had been a pure paperwork day, an early start. Not fun. Granted, her brain was pretty much designed for keeping track of tedious minutiae and organization, but it was still the CMO's least favorite part of the job. She'd stuck a "Do Not Disturb" note on the outside of her door, and thankfully no one had decided to test it. She'd pushed to get it done. Crew records, medical cargo, and yet another repair order for the ever-cursed Biobed 2, bane of her existence. It had shorted out. Again. Engineering had ripped the whole thing apart during shore leave, gone through every circuit, and put it back together carefully. And it had lasted a day.
It's haunted. There's absolutely no other rational explanation for it.
The nurse rubbed her hand through her short purple pixie cut, leaving it no more and no less messy than before. She tapped the 'send' button on the work order, with a note that she wouldn't object if the biobed was ejected into space and burned up in the atmosphere. Robin decided she'd had enough. She grabbed her cup of now-cold coffee and put it into her office's replicator to be whooshed away. The office itself had finally been decorated, with multiple plants providing welcome greenery. A very large viewscreen had been mounted on the wall, almost covering it, both for official business and to provide her something pleasant to look at. Currently it was showing Earth orbit, with Spacedock coming into view over the horizon.
She stood up. Time to go bother people. As CMO she was expected to circulate, even if there wasn't anything going on.
But there was. She caught the tail end of Beka's request to Tes Th’etellis. Her friend was doing well running the floor and assigning people, and she certainly didn't need the CMO to intervene in anything. Robin quietly moved to the door to observe the new doctor as he worked, staying out of line of sight. The last thing a Midshipman needed was to have the boss breathing down his neck.
== I'll take over from Beka as your temp GM. Feel free to treat the patient as you like, and I'll provide results and answer questions. ==
