The saurian was calmly humming to himself while scanning the pod. A’kilees hadn’t detected anything at this point wrong with the cryopod and it's reanimation process which seemed to be a blessing after everything that had happened throughout the day. He peered through the view port at the large alien figure inside who was coming out of it's induced slumber soon. He wondered what it’s first reaction would be after being in that pod for so long. No ship, most of the crew gone, far from your destination thousands of years later. It was going to be a lot for these aliens to process but hopefully they would come to understand that there were others in the wide universe willing to help them.
"Cortez and A'Kilees, you have everything ready?" Amila asked. She seemed to have concluded her cautioning of his fellow midshipman and hoping to switch the focus of the conversation back towards the task of first contact. A’kilees snapped out of his contemplation about the aliens, stood up from the pod while fixing his uniform and looked over towards her.
“Just a second Lieutenant, let me double check everything is functioning properly.” and he made his way over to the arch to access the control panel. With a few taps of his clawed hands he had fully accessed the Zephyr’s Universal Translator program from the control console. From what he could tell, the program was functioning well with the language algorithm and it was still processing the alien language based on the information retrieved from the black box since before they had arrived. A’kilees however wanted to be fully sure that everything was fine and began feeding a number of sentences into the program to test its computing capabilities for it to translate and retranslate it properly back so that no miscommunication would be possible.
