Reyna seemed pleasantly surprised by the reaction to her work in progress. "Really? You like it? I always worry that I go too far with such things. I know how art makes me feel and I want to try and create things that make other people feel things as well. I want to be daring, but not so daring that it scares people or loses something in the translation."
Reyna waved her hand and the image vanished, her expression looked worried as she looked at Beno, "This is new for you, isn't it. I feel you thinking about other people and other things, but there's a mixture of feelings fighting for control. Excitement about your work, but also the feelings you have right now, here with us. I love that you've been so comfortable here with us. My dad sometimes would remind me to put something on, but I love feeling free in the safe space of our own quarters. You seem to feel like I do and it makes me smile. My dad also loves it, but he hasn't said much because he knows it means he can't wag a finger at me about it anymore."
Reyna tilted her head, "Do you know who Kalli Thorn is?" Beno nodded that she did. "We've know her for a while. She even knew my mom. Anyway, she grew up on a colony where most of the people had come from Earth. They had a huge archive of music. It was one of the few things she still has from when she was rescued and she gave me a copy. I've only made it through a few thousand of the songs so far, but I found one that made me think of us. I think my dad might have heard it before, because Cindy knew about it. Can I share it with you?"
Reyna looked up and said, "Cindy, let's tell mom about what matters."
[As you wish...]
Piano began playing and Reyna smiled as Cindy altered the lighting in the room so almost everything else was dark but light was shining down right above her. The song was Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, but only to piano and the emotional voice of the young girl in front of them.

When she was done, the lights came back up and Reyna said with a smile, "Thanks Cindy!"
Alex commented, "You're right, I have heard it before, but I like your version best of all. That was amazing!"
Reyna beamed at her father's praise, but then looked Beno in the eye and repeated, "So close, no matter how far. No matter how busy and stressful work gets when you walk out those doors, know that we're with you every step. We're family now."
She made some small hand gestures and an isolinear chip materialized in her hand when she held it out, palm up. Reyna held the chip out to Beno, "Here, I know you like music. I think Kalli said it has something like twenty or thirty thousand different songs on it. I forget how many, but it is a lot. I don't like all of them, but I really like a bunch of them so far. I was a little surprised to find most titles to be misleading. For example, Rock Candy is NOT a song about candy. Pour Some Sugar On Me sounds like it is about candy, but is also not really about candy. I think you get the point though. You might have heard some music before and I'm beginning to think this is not uncommon to name things oddly when singing about most topics. I love songs about love and life the most, they're so full of emotions."
Reyna let out a sigh, looking like she had managed to get some of her energy out for a moment. Walking over to Beno, she gave her a big hug and then a kiss on the cheek. The warm glow of love and respect radiated off of Reyna like she was on fire. It was interesting in that Beno could pick up the hint of anxiety that was going on with Reyna as well. She couldn't be sure what was suppose to be normal for a betazoid, but it reminded Beno of her early pre-teens and wrestling with those hormone spikes when the flood gates had opened and just not hit her full force yet.
Reyna briefly sat on Beno's lap, but as she was on Alex, he smiled and gave a small roll of the eyes and mocked being crushed. Beno did notice that Reyna felt heavier than she looked, realizing that for a small child, she had more muscle density than would have been expected. The girl could seem like just another kid, yet she was also like no other kid Beno had ever met. Reyna then hugged them both together before leaning her head against her dad, "Thanks again, dad. Good job." She then gave him a big kiss on the cheek as well before playfully rolling off of them and looked like she was going to land on the table, but before Beno could say or do anything, Reyna simply put a hand out to brace it on the table and did a slow and graceful cartwheel to end up standing on the other side. Picking up her gift, she smiled at the dolls and walked toward her room.
